On Jan. 29, 2024, Palestinian Red Crescent volunteers receive an emergency call. A 5-year old girl is trapped in a car in Gaza surrounded by Israeli military forces who have killed other family members. In this docudrama, we hear recordings of Hind pleading to be rescued as the volunteer staff desperately try to arrange for an ambulance. ‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’ won the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice International Film Festival and received a 24-minute standing ovation at its premiere.

| Migrant Justice will be picketing the Williston Hannaford all day as part of their campaign to pressure Hannaford to join Milk with Dignity.
Migrant Justice has asked supporting organizations to sign up for a picket shift. The Vermont Workers’ Center will be joining the 3-5 pm shift, along with other organizations and individuals. There is a rally and march from 5-7 which will end up at the ICE facility in Williston.
The Workers’ Center is organizing carpools from Windham County for anyone who wants to go. Please use the link above to sign up for a carpool, and we’ll do our best to connect riders with drivers.

| Vermonters to join a statewide “ICE Out Vermont” campaign, demanding that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) immediately cease their illegal conduct.
We demand that ICE/CBP adhere to human rights, moral rights, and constitutional law immediately. We will present these demands to ICE/CBP by letter and in-person.
A large legal demonstration will take place at Taylor Park, and a peaceful, non-violent sit-in will take place at the St. Albans CBP offices.

As Vermont’s chief election officer, Secretary Copeland Hanzas is the primary guardian of our democratic process. She oversees everything from statewide voter registration to the certification of election results, ensuring our system remains secure, transparent, and accessible to every Vermonter.
During her visit, she will dive into the vital work her office is doing to strengthen election protections and safeguard our ballots. Most importantly, she’ll discuss how grassroots groups like ours can play a direct role in supporting healthy, high-integrity elections in our communities.

| “Aisha’s Story” and “Exception”Sunday, May 3, at 4 pm Organizer: Southern Vermont for Palestine Location: Latchis Theatre
Today we present a double feature with brief moderated conversations after each film.
In “Aisha’s Story” (62 min), a grandmother living in a Jordanian refugee camp shares family stories with her children and grandchildren. By grinding heirloom grains for the community and preparing traditional meals, she is preserving Palestinian heritage.
“Exception” (32 min) is a gripping short drama based on true experiences. When a leaked video of a professor accused of antisemitism goes viral, he must navigate the turbulent waters of pressure from the administration without sacrificing his integrity.
This program concludes the Palestine Film Series 2026. Masking is requested. Palestinian crafts and products will be on sale. Admission is by donation.
