Sun Day Sept. 20

Sun Day

Saturday,  9/20/2025, at 1 – 4 pm

Organizer: The Windham-Windsor (Win-Win) Third Act Vermont Regional Group

Location: Hetty Green Park, 2 Church Street, Bellows Falls, VT 05101, USA

Sun Day is a global day of action celebrating the unstoppable rise of clean energy and the movement to leave fossil fuels behind. Timed with the fall equinox—a moment of transition—we’ll come together to showcase the power of the sun and wind, the energy sources that can power our world without pollution or profiteering.

The Windham-Windsor (Win-Win) Third Act Vermont Regional Group is hosting a tour of local solar installations in these two counties to celebrate Sun Day.

Start at the Waypoint Center in Bellows Falls to get information about “going solar” and about local work towards setting up a thermal energy network in town. Pick up your copy of the Tour Description and Map. Refreshments will be served.
Then follow the self-guided tour to visit solar powered homes and institutions including six houses, Sojourns Community Health Clinic, the Westminster Center Elementary School and the First Universalist Parish of Chester in the historic Stone Village district.

The tour ends at the church with a short program at 4:00. State Senator Becca White, who represents Windsor County, will host a discussion about the future of solar in Vermont. We will consider topics such as if the state could have solar subsidies, how can low income folks get access to solar power, is portable solar a way to help more people access solar and how can renters take part in the solar future?
