Attorney General Charity Clark will hold a Town Hall concerning her recent work to protect the rule of law and Vermont’s sovereignty, including filing twenty-seven lawsuits against the Trump administration since President Trump took office in January.


Attorney General Clark will be joined by Representative Emilie Kornheiser and Senator Nader Hashim.


She says that she looks forward to hearing directly from Vermonters about the impacts of rapidly changing federal policy on their lives and will answer questions on her work standing up for the rule of law and for Vermont.

Tri-State Overpass for Democracy

Best location for many people:

  • Brattleboro: Western Ave. I-91 Exit 2 bridge overpass
    This is the best location for a large group of protestors.  Do not park near the deli or block any neighboring driveways.

Other locations for banners, flags and fewer people:

  • Vernon: Tyler Hill Road I-91 bridge overpass

  • Brattleboro: Black Mountain Rd. I-91 bridge overpass

  • Putney: I-91 Exit 4 bridge overpass 5 to 6 pm Do not arrive earlier.

  • Putney: 4 – 6 pm, Route 5 I-91 bridge overpass near Santa’s Land

  • Westminster: 3:30 – 5:30 pm, Kurn Hattin Road I-91 overpass south of Exit 5


We will once again participate in the multi-state coordinated effort “Overpasses for Democracy.” This will include overpasses from Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont. The time is extended for many, but not all, overpasses. This Tri-State event is planned for the fourth Friday of each month. You can register here to get updates.

Please do not park near the deli or block any neighboring driveways or other business. For example, find parking on Brattle Street and areas east of the overpass on Western Ave.

Staff Attorney Hillary Rich of the ACLU will describe what our legal rights are as churches and what to do in the unlikely event that ICE comes to a church. Regardless of whether or not you have refugees or immigrants in your congregation right now, we want to be prepared if this administration begins to target other vulnerable populations. All faith communities and the public are invited. There will be a period of Q&A and light refreshments will be served.

  • Supporting and partnering with already existing local rapid response teams in response to ICE targeting members of our community

  • Grassroots power-building, voter engagement, local coalition-building, and policy influence

  • Raising awareness within our communities and pushing back against disinformation

  • Building mutual aid networks and support structures


Our monthly meeting is an opportunity for members to connect, share updates, and take action.

All pieces must be consistent with Indivisible Brattleboro’s core norms of respect, responsibility, and resilience, and fostering inclusive participation.

Non Violent Direct Action (NVDA) Training

Steve Crofter and Laurel Green are conducting a series of half-day nonviolent direct action (NVDA) trainings in Southeastern Vermont. They have decades of experience using nonviolent action.  This is an early notice that they are offering NVDA training to increase the discipline and effectiveness of people trying to make a positive difference in climate, democracy, and social justice issues.


The training will include:

  • Finding courage to act,

  • The effectiveness of nonviolence,

  • How to make social change in solidarity with others,

  • And more!


The training is a great opportunity to bring together folks from many local movements including Third Actors, Indivisible folks, people working on Gaza, democracy, climate and immigration. All are welcome.

The October 10 training in Brattleboro starts at 9:30 a.m. and will end about 2:30 p.m., early enough to allow participants to join in either or both of the long-standing Brattleboro Friday afternoon protests on the I-91 bridge and at The Common.


The sessions in Bellows Falls and Putney will run from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Jon Sachs, a Swing Blue Alliance member is pouring energy into a Trump Tragedies website that has a page devoted to free, downloadable 8.5 x 11 in. protest-themed posters.

These are protest messaging that can be posted on America’s streets and easily shared by a website link could help get much more protest messaging in the public eye. Eighteen posters are now available on the site. There’s also an online suggestion box for additional posters that people think should be added.
