 There is an upcoming week of action to Shut Down ICE in Vermont (October 4-9). Many of our affinity groups and core team members will be there.  On November 6th, ICE Out Vermont Alliance will focus on two ICE facilities in Williston, VT:The National Criminal Analysis and Targeting Center (NCATC) performs digital surveillance that tracks people nationally, including family members, friends, and social media activity.The Law Enforcement Support Center (LESC) houses a database of targets for arrest and operates the 24×7 National Tip Line that accepts unverified tips from anyone that often are the basis for targeting going forward. Our plan is to gather at NCATC, then walk as a funeral procession to LESC. People joining the procession will carry coffins and tombstones, draw chalk silhouettes bearing the names of immigrants who have died at the hands of ICE, and play somber music. At the end of the march, people trained in nonviolent civil disobedience will conduct a sit-in at LESC. Soon, we’ll share more details about training and preparation. Our Demands for November 6th In the months since our May 8 action in St. Albans, it has become clearer than ever that the culture of intimidation, violence, and terror employed by ICE is irredeemable and must stop. We’ve updated our demands to meet the challenge of this continually more dire and frequently deadly reality. Our new demands are the product of deep and searching conversations among our core team as well as interviews we conducted with coalition partners and affinity groups over the summer.
