 analysis illustrating how the federal government has forcibly transformed 
 the United States from a democracy into an oligarchy.  His explanation re
 veals both the economic logic driving the transition and the political str
 ategy used to effect it.  Discussion will follow.  Tim taught history an
 d political science at BUHS for 39 years and has been a political activist
