When: Sun. 3/8/26 1:00 PM
Where: Pliny Park, 180 Main Street, Brattleboro

Why: The Brattleboro community will come together on Sunday, March 8 to say “NO” to war, “NO” to killing school children, “NO” to bombing a city of nearly 10 million people, “NO” to a war of choice in Iran. While campaigning, Donald Trump repeatedly stated that he would engage in no foreign wars – this is yet one more lie from a man whose entire regime is based on untruths.
The shifting justifications for bombing both government and civilian targets are not believable; even the Pentagon clearly stated that Iran posed no threat to the United States. In June 2025, the Trump regime claimed to have obliterated the Iranian nuclear program. The U.S. was engaging in peace negotiations described as productive as recently as Friday, February 27 – and yet joined Israel in beginning an aggressive bombing campaign on Saturday 2/28. To date, six American soldiers have died, and more than 1000 Iranians have been killed as the bombs strike civilian targets such as a girls’ school and a car park.
At 1:00 on Sunday, March 8, International Women’s Day, Indivisible Brattleboro will gather at Pliny Park to express our sadness and defiance. Bring signs. We do not support a war of aggression against the Iranian people. We support peace, we mourn the unnecessary deaths, destruction, and fear that this bombing has wrought.
A core principle behind all Indivisible Brattleboro events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
