Phone bank power hour

Sunday, October 19, 4 pm

Organizer: Lean Left Vt

Location: Zoom

Join Lean Left in the fight for free and fair elections! If you have never done phone banking or don’t even like the idea, we invite you to come, watch, and listen during our Sunday Power Hour at 4 pm as volunteers make calls each Sunday in October.

We will be making calls to recruit poll observers for Virginia’s elections this Fall. Poll observers are the eyes and ears on the ground, ensuring that voters can safely cast their ballots. We are also calling dedicated Democrats in Pennsylvania to make sure they vote for the retention of PA Supreme Court justices who are the bulwark against gerrymandering. These are super easy, friendly calls to Democrats — perfect for beginning phone bankers.

Come and see for yourself. We provide you with resource materials and training. You’ll learn about why we’re making these calls, how to use the dialing tool, best practices for handling the script, and more. The most important thing you’ll learn? You’re not alone! Lean Left VT is state-wide with participants from various locations in and out of Vermont, but mostly Vermont.

Indivisible Brattleboro November Meeting

Saturday,  11/1/2025, at 10 am

Organizer: Indivisible Brattleboro

Location: Location will be shared with members via newsletter — contact us to sign up!

Brattleboro Indivisible is having its next group meeting on November 1. We’re a local chapter of the national organization – fighting for democracy, combating fascism, and fighting back in defense of our rights, our communities, and our values. We work through five action groups, enabling members to lead and contribute to activities that most interest and energize them. Our action groups focus on:

  • Organizing direct actions such as marches, protests, sit-ins, and strategic boycotts

  • Supporting and partnering with already existing local rapid response teams in response to ICE targeting members of our community

  • Grassroots power-building, voter engagement, local coalition-building, and policy influence

  • Raising awareness within our communities and pushing back against disinformation

  • Building mutual aid networks and support structures

  • Nonviolent protest, including direct action and potentially civil disobedience, in support of human rights, democracy, equality and access to government services

Our monthly meeting is an opportunity for members to connect, share updates, and take action.

Jon Sachs, a Swing Blue Alliance member is pouring energy into a Trump Tragedies website that has a page devoted to free, downloadable 8.5 x 11 in. protest-themed posters.

These are protest messaging that can be posted on America’s streets and easily shared by a website link could help get much more protest messaging in the public eye. Eighteen posters are now available on the site. There’s also an online suggestion box for additional posters that people think should be added.
